Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Contour is actively monitoring the recent coronavirus outbreak and will comply with any recommendations made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). As always, the safety and wellness of our customers and crew members are our primary concern, and we will continue to make decisions with this in mind.

Important New Safety Measures

Effective May 11, 2020

In order to manage the spread of COVID-19, Contour Airlines has put in place additional measures to ensure your safety.

Contour requires that all passengers have a removable face covering or non-medical mask to cover their mouth and nose for use through the airport and in-flight to prevent the inadvertent spread of COVID-19 through respiratory droplets. Passengers must wear their face mask at all times when they are six feet or less away from another person, other than a member of their household, or when directed to do so by a Contour employee.  We reserve the right to deny boarding to any passenger unwilling to comply with this requirement.  Contour has a limited number of masks available for passengers not currently in possession of their own.  Please notify a Contour representative should you need one.

As a reminder, no person should board a flight when they are feeling ill as this could potentially put others at risk. Should symptoms such as a fever, cough or difficulty breathing develop while in flight, please notify the flight crew immediately.

Your safety is our top priority.  We appreciate your understanding and thank you for flying Contour Airlines.

Change and Cancellation Fees

**Due to high call volumes, please send an email with your change or cancellation request to our Customer Care team at and it will be processed in the order it was received. Please include the record locator (PNR) or ticket number(s) and the names of the passengers associated with your request.**

Out of concern for our customers, we have altered our policy regarding flight changes and cancellations. Change and cancellation fees have been waived for all bookings made before March 10, 2020, and will be waived for all current bookings until further notice. Non-refundable tickets may be canceled and credit for the full value of the ticket applied to a Future Travel Voucher (FTV). FTV funds are valid for future travel up to one year from the original purchase date and must be used by the individual named on the ticket. Hopefully, this change in policy will provide our customers peace of mind so that if circumstances change, they can alter their plans without penalty.

Suspended Routes

In light of the unprecedented impact to travel demand caused by COVID-19, Contour is suspending service on the routes below effective March 31, 2020.  If you are currently holding a ticket for a flight on one of these routes and made your reservation via or Contour's call center, the full value of your ticket will be automatically refunded to your original form of payment. If you have booked through a travel agency, corporate travel portal, or online booking site, please contact the third party through which the booking was made to request a refund.

Aircraft Cleanliness and Safety

Contour staff members regularly clean and disinfect the aircraft with EPA-registered disinfectants to ensure a clean cabin environment for all passengers. At this time, there have not been any reports of a Contour customer testing positive for the coronavirus after being a passenger aboard one of our aircraft. We ask that customers who show signs and symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone who has shown symptoms or been diagnosed with the virus, refrain from traveling until they have been cleared to do so by their healthcare provider.

Precautions when Traveling

We encourage our passengers to follow best practices set out by the CDC while traveling.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash your hands with soap and water if they are visibly dirty.
  • Practice social distancing by maintaining distance between you and individuals who may be sick. This is especially important for people who may be at higher risk due to age or underlying conditions.
